Anne Cotterill

Anne Cotterill was born in the Scottish Borders near Kelso. She attended Edinburgh College of Art when Sir William Gillies was Head of Painting. Awarded two postgraduate travelling scholarships which enabled her to study for two years in Europe and train in Paris. Anne married and settled in the West Country where with her husband raised a family.

The Somerset countryside provided her with the inspiration of painting the seasonal wild flowers in her garden as well as the surrounding countryside. Her oil paintings have  both a charm  and delicacy and are keenly sought by collectors and enthusiast and is widely acknowledged as one of the leading flower artists of her generation.

Reproductions of her paintings have brought her work to a much wider audience in the UK and abroad.
