Tamegroute is a village know as the gateway to the Sahara Desert which is famous through out Morocco and renowned worldwide for its distinctive green pottery.  The clay is sourced from the banks of the River Draa, Moroccos longest river. Crafted from clay that is left to dry in the sunshine for 5 days before being fire-glazed.

Moroccan White was set up by Andrew ten years ago. Having given up a career in the music industry he started initially with a market stall in Portbello Road in London before MW. Having lived and travelled extensively over Morocco since his mid-twenties, he has built an extensive address book of skilled artisans and long lasting friendships promoting sustainable and fairly produced items but keeping the integraty of the artists craft.

NB: The pottery is a handmade item and no two will be the same. The characteristic stacking marks on the top of each piece are a testament to the traditional wood-fire oven process and the evenly spaced marks give each item a uniqueness and should be considered part of the artistic value.
